About ACWFC

The Adelaide City Womens Football Club (ACWFC) was established in 2000 and is affiliated with the Football Federation of South Australia (FFSA). The Club has an enviable history of success and professional credibility in womens soccer in the State and in Australia.
Our club is progressive, dynamic, multicultural and fast growing. We are currently one of the largest womens clubs in Australia and the most successful womens club in South Australia

The Club’s headquarters (home grounds) are located at the corner of Hutt Street and South Terrace, Adelaide. We have three first class playing pitches that are maintained by an automated irrigation system. Each of these pitches is provided with fully functional lighting that we use during training and for evening matches.

We are proud of the club facilities however recognise that they wouldn’t have been achievable without generous sponsorship, voluntary labour and the commitment and skills of players and supporters. We are also grateful to the Federal and State governments and Adelaide City Council who have provided facilities grants to the Club.

A committee of 10 members’ oversee the club. Regular formal meetings held to discuss Club operations including club finances. Minutes are recorded. An Annual General Meeting is conducted to elect a new committee at the end of each season (usually in November) and all club members are encouraged to attend. We also use this meeting as a chance to discuss the seasons achievements and review the financial status of the club members).

A brief history

The Club has a long and proud history and this year celebrates 10 years at our current location on Hutt St. Over the years many senior players have gone on to represent the State and our Senior teams are regulars in the Cup and league finals.

In 2009 the Premier and Under 17s teams won their Cup finals and our Head Coach was named ‘Coach of the Year’ in the FFSA womens competition. In 2010 the Premier team won the cup and league finals and the Head Coach was again named ‘Coach of the Year’ in the womens competition. ACWFC senior players each year have been well represented in the annual FFSA womens awards.

The club has a strong and focused commitment to developing junior players. We recognise that these players are the future of our Club and womens football in the State. ACWFC has been able to field well performing teams in junior competitions at the Under 11, Under 13, 15 and 17 levels. In 2010 we were also successful in establishing an Under 9 team and will field a team in Under 9s again in season 2011.

In November 2006 our clubrooms were totally destroyed by fire and all equipment and income generating facilities were destroyed.
Over the past four years the Club has operated from temporary transportable facilities that while not ideal, did the job we needed.  The patience and persistence of the Club, its players and supporters during this time is testament to the determination and commitment of everyone involved to ensure the success of the Club now and into the future.

The future

With the financial assistance provided by the State and Federal Governments and the Adelaide City Council and the continued support from our Club patron (Joe Tripodi) and sponsors, we are confident that in 2011 we will complete our new clubrooms.

Volunteers – WE NEED YOU !
The Club relies completely on the assistance provided by volunteers (parents or other family and friends) who support the  club and the teams. All Committee members and appointed team coaches are volunteers.
While we have a great number of volunteers, we still need people to help us out in the roles of
